LIVE VIDEO: “Hyperboreans – the first myth”, with GIACOMO MARIA PRATI

If for us contemporaries the myth refers to ancient Greece, for the "cradle of European civilization" this was - first and foremost - the song of the noble and ancient people of the Hyperboreans, sacred to Apollo and Artemis. To enter immortality, the Greek warriors had to make the most dangerous journey: the one towards the far north seen as a timeless Eden, in the wake of those heroic lands close to the sky and the Gods. Giacomo Maria Prati rereads the entire Greek myth in the light of the Hyperboreans, who were responsible for the foundation of the sanctuary of Delphi and the institution of the Olympic Games. For the first time, all the Greek and Latin sources are investigated and summarized in a broad and in-depth essay, which also knows how to take on the tones of a hymn, song and epic celebration. The author - whose work is enriched by an essay by Alessandro Coscia on Hyperborean shamanism and by a Platonic dialogue with his son Raimondo - gives us a very lively ancestral spirituality, with a total and shamanic Apollo at the centre.
