Lovecraft, or the inconsistency of the real

The last time I tried to get a copy of the Necronomicon - the occult book which contains the knowledge capable of opening up worlds and making monstrous creatures break into a reality unprepared to welcome them - was some time ago, in the ancient library of an Italian city of art, famous for its collection d'incunabula (you will allow me to remain vague, for the reasons that will become clear immediately). A "courteous librarian", as Lovecraft would have said, after some hesitation told me that, yes, he remembered the presence of the volume in the august shelves of that temple of knowledge, but that unfortunately, in an indefinite period, it had been lost, stolen or destroyed. And, as proof, he showed me the registers of the venerable institution in which the book was duly marked with a bibliographic record complete with all the necessary elements, and with the words "Removed" next to it. I expressed my regret that such a fearful work could have ended up in imprudent hands, and the courteous librarian agreed.

Summary of the conference heldย on Friday 24 February 2017 at Trieste.

After the previous meeting on "The ancient roots of the Indo-Europeans"Of 27/1/2017 also this, which took place thanks to the organization of Daniele Kirchmayer, was introduced by the useful and interesting notes of Fabio Calabrese, who provided a first overview of the issues in question, insisting in particular on strong conformism, ideologically oriented, of current prehistoric research. In fact, as a starting point for the conference, we can certainly say that today the academic world, and also the popular one aimed at a wider audience, is based on two assumptions that tend to present themselves as real "dogmas "Of faith, in truth anything but demonstrated: the" ascending "evolutionism in a more general biological perspective, and the Afrocentrism of human origins in that more specifically concerning our species, Homo Sapiens. We will begin by exposing some points of criticism to these two conceptual a priori and then we will move on to illustrate the more properly constructive elements of the discourse.

A Science in Tatters: Survival of the Doctrines of Cyclic Time from the Timaeus to the Apocalypse

In the first article of this cycle [cf. Cyclic time and its mythological meaning: the precession of the equinoxes and the tetramorph], we have said that, at regular intervals, due to the precession, some alternations of constellations occur in the four cardinal points of the year. This is the reason why the sacred texts speak of certain "catastrophes" that determine some "submergence" of an old "earth" and the rise of a new one (at least up to a certain time in history). Each age of the world has its "earth", that is its ecliptic plane, delimited by the equinoxes and solstices, which emerges from the "sea", that is, from the demarcation plane of the celestial equator. When the points of the year are determined by other constellations, a new "earth" rises on the horizon, while the old one sinks below sea level.
